When we are still recovering from the surprise of the HTC Vive unveiled at the last Gamescom and at the MWC in Barcelona, HTC drops what it calls a future secret weapon.
The look of the images is very futuristic, and yes, the news is after April 1st (April fool’s day for many countries, in case someone doesn’t know by now), so it might or might not be a joke. It would be very surprising if at this point they offer an image of the design of the commercial version of the Vive, and from the image it seems that the front puts HTC Haptic Touch. The news comes from Trusted Reviews, who in turn link to the Facebook page of Idris Mootee, Chief Marketing Officer of HTC.
The text that accompanies the images is secret weapon coming soon, and little can be ventured by these photographs. It seems that there are two wheels that could be for focusing the image, and in general the design looks impractical and ergonomic when fitting it on the head. To this day and if we had to bet, we would lean because it is a somewhat belated April Fools joke, but with these things you never know. From what we have been investigating, it seems that no one is clear so… what do you guys think?
