The latest Facebook exclusive game for Oculus Rift has been very well received, with very favorable reviews. However, there is a much criticized point of Lone Echo II: the absence of dubbing or subtitles into other languages, something that did have its first part. The Ready at Dawn studio has received several messages on its Twitter account these days from players asking if the game would have a translation in French, German or Spanish. The answer came today and was negative: translation into other languages is not on your roadmap.
Hello, as we addressed the obstacles in development, we had to make some difficult decisions. One of those decisions was not to translate Lone Echo II and, unfortunately, we have no plans in the roadmap to translate [en otros idiomas] game”
The narrative charge in Lone Echo II it is huge and is based on hundreds of dialogues to which we must respond, choosing from several options that modulate the relationship of the android Jack with the rest of the characters, especially with his adventure partner Liv. The voice actors ‘ work is excellent, but they are voices in English and the only subtitles we can activate are also only in English.
The first part of this odyssey in the rings of Saturn did receive voices or subtitles in several languages (Spanish, German, Chinese, Korean, French and Japanese). In our case, the voices were in neutral latin Spanish and arrived with an update six months after its release. However this possibility is not contemplated this time by the developers, it does not fall within their plans, so it seems that we will not hear voices in Spanish in Lone Echo IIand maybe we don’t even have subtitles in our own language.
