Users who have the paid account can share their sessions with anyone who has a compatible viewer.
The media player Plex VR, which is currently compatible with Daydream and Oculus Mobile (Gear VR / Go), has received an update whereby users of any viewer compatible with the aforementioned platforms can join the same room to view together any type of content, which can be hosted on our device or on a multimedia server with the Plex service.
These social rooms for up to 4 people, which feature voice chat and avatars of their own, require the person creating the room to have a paid account for the service. All other guests (who join the session) can use the free account.
Another new feature they have added, also for subscribers, is the VIRTUAL Surround sound (5.1), which consists of positional audio to recreate the feeling of being in a room with a great sound system.
We have more information about the different features on the Plex page. Free account users can try all these new features during the first week of using the app.
