NXP increased sales solutions for identification, NXP Semiconductors N. V. announced that it has strengthened its leadership in the global market identification devices due to the growth of total sales for eight consecutive
quarters in all market segments using identification technologies.
NXP, with a focus on developing integrated solutions for safety, user convenience and communication, as well as strategies to build a complete ecosystem of applications
to identify, is the undisputed leader in such key sectors as solutions for electronic documents, payment of transport services, control systems and access control, RFID tags and
readers, NFC and payments. Income unit identification NXP in three areas: secure transactions, secure identification, marking and
authentication in 2010 was $ 589 million USD, which allowed the company to take first place in the global market solutions for identification. According to a report by NXP, the results of the first half
2011 income units identification amounted to 383 million dollars, which provided the company with a confident first place; it was recently declared the amount of income received in the second quarter, – 194 million
USD.
“According to Agency ABI Research, NXP is in a unique position and different from other companies because it offers products for the entire range of RFID frequencies from LF and HF to microwaves”, –
said Mike Liard (Mike Liard), research Director of RFID solutions, the company ABI Research. – Integrated circuit transponder NXP are used in such diverse and promising
apps like car immobilizers, security/access control system contactless payment, ticketing, NFC applications, government ID,
funds, asset management, funds tracking individual objects, authentication and much more.”
“NXP is a leader in sales for many of these areas, primarily in the markets of RF solutions, added John Devlin (John Devlin), Director of the practical implementation
units of automatic identification and smart cards, ABI Research. – In fact, given the recent results and growth in 2010, NXP can claim the title
semiconductor company # 1 in providing solutions for identification, including groups of RFID products and protected by IP.”
Global trends in the field of mobile solutions and communications, cloud computing, authentication between devices(M2M), as well as the prevention of physical and computer security threats
there is growing pressure on businesses, governments and end users. In turn, the growing demand for more secure and easy to use interactive solutions helped
the emergence of new opportunities in areas such as mobile payments, identification in cloud computing and authentication facilities across a global supply chain. Many years of successful experience in
the creation and development of new markets, the world’s best safety technology, a unique completeness of the product portfolio and strategy of solutions-oriented application – that is an ideal base
which enables NXP to provide real benefits to its clients and partners. Collaborating with such industry leaders as Google, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, ZTE, Nokia, BDr,
Gemalto, Oberthur, Giesecke & Devrient, Avery Dennison and many other companies, NXP is committed to ongoing innovation in a large ecosystem of solutions for identification.
The achievement of a consolidated first place in the market of identification is a natural result of th work of NXP on the creation of solutions-oriented application, we further intend to expand the market
traditional identity solutions in developed and emerging economies to meet the ever changing needs of our customers. In other words, our team will continue
to develop a comprehensive solution to object recognition, to make our daily lives more convenient and secure,” said Rudiger Shtro (Ruediger Stroh), Executive Vice President
and General Manager of division of identification devices, NXP Semiconductors.
Shtro continued: “One of the most important new trends that we are seeing today in the market solutions for identification, is the convergence of technologies and the desire to use one
chip for multiple applications – for example, the national card of identification, which could find application in managing access to transport and banking services. In addition, we
actively developing solutions for emerging market segments such as authentication in intelligent networks and security of transactions using mobile technology such as NFC. Along with
partners we are looking for new ways for the intelligent recognition of people and objects to protect and connect the physical and virtual worlds in which we live today.”
