Among the winners of the event that will take place on May 19, 20 and 21, € 5,000 in prizes will be distributed to give the first push to their projects. Registration is open to entrepreneurs who want to bet on virtual or augmented reality.
After having launched three startups with its pilot program in Valencia, the VR/AR project incubator, Oarsis, opens a new headquarters in the capital of Spain. In the next Incubation Program, they will launch between three and four new startups, with the intention of transforming different sectors of the industry.
“Many people know virtual or augmented reality from the video game sector, but the truth is that they are new platforms that are going to contribute significantly in countless sectors such as real estate, industrial, logistics, the health sector and especially the education sector” comments Carlos López, CEO of Oarsis.
They expect to have more than two hundred applications for this program, of which only 30 will be pre-selected to create their startup within Oarsis. “Starting a company using this type of emerging technologies is not easy, so we are very demanding in the selection process and we will only admit the best talent, both from the technical and business side,” explains López. They plan to have international talent, so the incubation program will be developed entirely in English.
They will create a “technological hub” together with the Demium internet project incubator and its DemiumGames video game vertical and will be fully equipped with virtual and augmented reality technology in the embajadores neighborhood (Martín de Vargas Street, 40). “We have a wide range of technology available to startups (Oculus, HTC, Hololens, Vuzix Viewfinders…) and even a holographic room, so that our startups can create their products in a more agile way.”
The two young entrepreneurs behind the incubator, Carlos López and Mateo Moreno, are determined to revolutionize a series of industries with these new technologies and therefore seek people who are looking to make a change in their professional career as well as freelancers who want to enter the world of startups. “Creating your own company is a unique experience for personal development. We are looking for those brave people who are willing to change their lives to do something new.”
The future entrepreneurs will be selected during the Oarsis Weekend that will be held on May 19, 20 and 21 in Madrid. Among the winners of the event, they will be distributed €5000 in prizes to give them the first push with their new projects. All those interested can sign up for the event at www.oarsis.com/weekend until May 1st.
