When just a few hours have passed since the release of Alien Isolation, some members of the community have already started looking for traces of possible support for Oculus Rift among the game files, and it seems that they have found something. The idea of a future update is gaining more and more strength, perhaps coinciding with the launch of the commercial version of the Rift.
In the following image you can see the guts of the main executable of the game, AI.EXE, where names relating to Oculus Rift prototypes are clearly read. The Creative Assembly already confirmed a few weeks ago that the game would not come out with Oculus Rift support at launch, but they also did not completely rule out that the game would be adapted in the future.
Alien Isolation has been shown publicly by Oculus along with the DK2, it was a prototype of the game prepared especially for the demonstration. But before this, specifically at the beginning of the year, the creators already showed their interest in making the game work with Oculus Rift, so we’ll see what all this is about. Recall that traces of support for Oculus Rift were also found in Thief and, at the moment, things have not gone any further, although in the case of Alien, a functional prototype has been shown.
