At the end of March, we told you that Xbox was working on a Game Pass family plan. After just a couple of rumors, this news has become official and in fact some countries of the world are already going to be able to start testing it.
Through a post on its official blog, Xbox confirmed that it has been working on a Game Pass Ultimate family plan that can now be purchased by users in Colombia and Ireland, the first countries where it will be available. A family plan indicates that, for a certain monthly price higher than that of an individual plan, a group of up to 4 people can each enjoy all the benefits, such as exclusive access to Xbox Game Pass games, xCloud, online game and more.
Users who want to subscribe should look for the article “Xbox Game Pass – Insider Preview” in the Microsoft Store to subscribe. And while not all members of the plan must be insiders, they must live in one of these 2 countries. On the other hand, if you already have Game Pass Ultimate, the family plan will convert the remaining time of your membership into time for the new plan, based on the monetary value of the previous membership. For example, 1 month of Game Pass Ultimate will be 18 days of family Game Pass Ultimate.
On the other hand, if you buy a family plan, none of the members can have spare time on their own plans, so they must cancel it or wait for it to expire. Finally, Xbox All Access members cannot be part of a Game Pass Ultimate family plan.
Once all the problems and details of this family plan are fixed, it will begin to be distributed to the rest of the countries of the world.
