Golf is a game that can be perfectly transferred to a virtual reality environment in which we have a small space to move. And Ghost Machine is already working on it.
This future golf title, provisionally called Ultimate Golf Masters, will take advantage of Valve’s Lighthouse system so that we have a small movement space around the ball. We will be able to move around, bend over, lean over… we almost had to check the direction of the wind. All this within the limits of what everyone already calls the Valve Room, that space that many of us will want to have in our homes to enjoy some freedom of movement in standing virtual reality experiences. In addition, using Valve’s motion controllers, we will be able to simulate the hitting of the ball. The guide of the cake would be (this is to be confirmed) that we could use a chair in a corner of our room in which, when sitting, we entered the typical electric car that would transport us to the place where we have sent the ball. Something similar to this:
If they execute it well, this title could be a real success, as it would make the most of the possibilities of absolute positioning in an enclosed space, as well as motion controllers. We will be very attentive to the development of this interesting title, which will mean a change in Ghost Machine, which so far has published only driving games for virtual reality.
