Add up and go on, and now it’s Panasonic’s turn, which has privately shown an HMD at the Wonder Japan Solutions event held in Tokyo between the 12th and 14th of this month. The technical characteristics are also not bad.
Apparently the FOV is around 90º and they use an OLED screen that reaches a refresh rate of 75 Hz. The prototype has been shown privately and Panasonic says they have yet to decide whether it will be marketed or not. According to a representative of the firm, “the HMD can be hooked on the ears as if it were a conventional glasses, which is more comfortable than an Oculus Rift.”
Here we see it together with an omnidirectional camera equipped with seven sensors, designed for the 2020 Olympics and that could be used, for example, to see a long jumper from the point of view we want.
