Payoneer: 77% of foreign language teachers have completely switched to onlinne Saveliev | 08.09.2020
According to a survey conducted among analysts Payoneer online teachers from 40 countries around the world, platforms online learning in the spring of 2020 noted the increase in students of about 520% relative to
in the same period in 2019.
The Internet, like any other phenomenon in this world, can not be entirely positive technology, but one of his main functions, he continues to regularly wear. Affecting the work
with information on its spread and the volume available to the common man data, the network is changing ways of learning and the quality of the obtained knowledge. Of course, flash COVID-19 has contributed to
this trend has accelerated the expansion of the boundaries. Thus, this spring online training has become for us not just a hobby, and the only way to get an education.
In an attempt to analyze how the teachers affected by the pandemic and what is their forecast for the industry of online education, experts have confirmed the obvious fact that many teachers are trying to keep
up with the times to remain popular in the market. About 75% of them said that joined the industry during the last two years.
What is the market? It is at least 25 million newcomers who had arrived on the educational platform Coursera from mid-March 2020, or an increase of 425% flow of students on
the Udemy platform. Of course, there are many areas and services, so for simplicity they can be divided into two main types: skills training (improvement of competencies in
working the field, work on the hard skills) and learning foreign languages.
Already here we can observe an interesting trend opposed to the love of crusts. Yes, 77% of teachers have formal qualifications (certificates, TESOL, TEFL, degree
bachelor or knowledge of the language at the advanced level). However, 73% of teachers of professional skills, formal qualifications are not: they rely only on practical experience in their field
more valuable. The presence of formal qualifications is hardly reflected at the level of income:
58% of foreign language teachers earn per month from $500, half of them from $1000 to $3000.
52% of teachers of professional skills to get the month from $500, 21% of them – from $1,000 to $3,000, and 8% went on income of more than $3,000 a month.
Whatever doesn’t kill us, makes us adapt to the new conditions and finally to change old habits. So, for many experts the field of online education has become the only source of income
in particular this is true for 77% of teachers and 52% of teachers professional skills.
About 90% of the surveyed teachers are willing to consider online learning as the only source of income, with 75% of the total decided not to change the prices of their courses and programs despite
the increase in demand.
By the way, that demand will increase in the long run, believe 87% of those who teach professional skills, and 54% of those who teach foreign languages.
