Pega platform gets new features Pegasystems enables UI design via low code
Software provider Pegasystems has further expanded its Pega platform. It now offers new low-code features that allow both professional developers and citizen developers to quickly create engaging and productive user interfaces.

Pegasystems combined with the new low-code features extended possibilities for frontend design with the proven capabilities for backend processing. Until now, business users were able to create applications themselves using low-code tools, but they were dependent on professional designers and front-end developers for convincing user interfaces-the low-code strengths lay above all with the back – end processes of the applications.
In release 8.6, the Pega platform relies on the proven capabilities for development in combination with UX best practices “out of the box”. A new UI architecture, advanced design features, and open APIs allow the configuration and design of applications with a shared low-code tool. Using integrated industry standards, developers can integrate new user experiences into existing frontends.
Extensive Options
All new features work seamlessly with the React-based Pega Cosmos Design System. Design templates help create efficient surfaces. An expandable library is available in the App Studio. This allows citizen developers to focus on modeling and configuring the applications while rendering the optimal design layout in parallel. Branding elements can be individually adapted and enable the automated implementation of brand guidelines across the entire application.
The Pega Digital Experience (DX) APIs update all connected front-ends as core processes in the backend change. New code is not required. As an example, Pegasystems cites a bank that extends an existing loan application process with a data field. The Pega DX API dynamically renders the new field across all connected channels.
Availability
The new design and development features are part of Pega Infinity Release 8.6, which is expected to be available by the end of the second quarter of the year.
