Allot released a report from the Telco Security Trends. Based on private and industry studies, he examines the rise of phishing attacks, their financial impact and how service providers
can help combat this growing threat.

Key findings include:

  • Phishing is a growing problem for users, businesses and service providers around the world. Consumers are the primary targets of these attacks, and they require enhance the security of their data and
    of the financial information. The study shows that they have a right to worry. According to Telco Security Trends Report, during the first quarter of 2019 Telecom operators in Europe
    every month blocked an average of 20 million phishing attacks on devices seven million mobile subscribers.

  • Phishing is a global billion dollar industry. The report also indicates that during the three-month period, mobile phishing accounted for 35% of all activated locks in customers
    service security Telecom operator. Adware took second place with 34%, outstripping the number of locks malware, ransomware and cryptogamia.

 

But, service providers are able to reduce the number of phishing attacks.

Despite the fact that phishing is technically depends on what sources users trust, service providers can proactively protect its subscribers from it. To do this, they must take
the approach to “Educate, warn and protect” to protect customers from cyber criminals. Such care will give providers an opportunity to differentiate themselves and create new sources of income,
at the same time protecting Internet users.

“For many years the customers of service providers have become direct or indirect victims of phishing, and now is the time to act, says Hagai Katz, Vice President, strategic
accounts on cyber security in Allot. Today hackers seek to deceive users and persuade them to divulge personal and confidential information, skillfully manipulating such human
emotions like greed, fear and hope. Thanks to a proactive approach to inform customers about phishing campaigns, teaching them the basics of Internet security and implementation antifishingovyh technologies
to protect at the network level, service providers can not only win the trust of consumers, but also to create new sources of income for ourselves.”
