The first backers of the Kickstarter campaign will soon receive their units, being mostly 5K + viewers.
The Kickstarter campaign from Pimax 8K and 5K + viewer shipments are starting this week, as the company has shared in a new update. After having asked the first 100 backers that visor wanted to finally receive (not all of them have answered), 52% of the submissions will include the 5K+ while 48% will be the 8K, although they have not shared how many of them have decided to change their original decision. It is to be expected that they will gradually send the rest of the viewers, since they intend that all those who supported the campaign will receive it before Christmas.
Pimax suggests that we upgrade our graphics card in case we don’t have a GTX 1080 or higher. At the same time, it warns all early backers that they continue to improve the software and usability, so being the first ones they will experience more changes than once they reach the rest of users. If we are not convinced by the situation we can always request that they delay our shipment. To offer closer support to these first users, they have created a specific private forum.
“With very limited resources, the team has solved the bottlenecks of the large FOVS of the viewers, the next priority is to offer a better user experience. Over time, comfort and the entire user experience will greatly improve with new versions of software and accessories,” they explain.
As they indicate, the priority will now be to improve the user experience and the comfort of the viewfinder, for which they prepare the headset fastening system.
Finally they share that backers will receive special offers when new versions are available regardless of the model they chose (5K+ or 8K).
