The Oculus VR signing campaign does not stop even in August. Chris Horne, Pixar’s technical director, has announced on Twitter that he is making the leap to virtual reality. Palmer Luckey’s company continues to add great talents and recognized industry veterans in its crusade to achieve as good a Rift as possible accompanied by high-quality virtual experiences.
To all my gamedev friends: Happy to announce I’ve joined OculusVR! To all the pixarsuperfans: Sorry but I’ve left Pixar to join OculusVR =(

At Pixar/Disney, Chris was responsible for debugging, correcting and optimizing sequences, shots and assets as they move through the production chain. His role was to support the lighting masters when preparing the sequences, especially those with a large load of visual effects or with many characters. He was also responsible for the creation of diagnostic tools and the research of good practices. I worked between different departments with high technical and creative requirements.
