Although PlayStation is a brand that focuses on creating experiences for console, little by little it has been expanding its horizons: PC ports and audiovisual productions are becoming more and more common day by day and today it is also doubling its interest in the mobile market through the acquisition of Savage Game Studios.
Through a post on the PlayStation blog, Hermen Hulst, head of Sony Interactive Entertainment worldwide, revealed that Sony has just joined Savage Game Studios to its family. This is a European studio focused on the creation of mobile games and has people with vast experience in this field, as they are veterans of the industry.

According to Hulst, Savage “was founded a few years ago with the aim of fearlessly exploring new and interesting ideas,” making it the perfect choice to join PlayStation Studios. Thus, developers will be able to use the impressive portfolio of IPs of the video game company and develop innovative titles with them. It should be emphasized that Savage will work completely independently from the rest of the PlayStation Studios studios.
Michail Katkoff, CEO and co-founder of Savage Game Studios, commented the following:
“They are surely wondering “In that case, why would they join PlayStation Studios?”. We celebrate this agreement because we believe that the leadership of PlayStation Studios respects our vision on how we can operate and succeed in the best way, and because they are also not afraid to take risks. In addition, there is the potential ability to take advantage of the incredible catalog of PlayStation titles and the fact that we will benefit from the kind of support that only they can offer. The hardest question to answer would be “Why not do it?”
Hulst said Savage is already working on a “new AAA action mobile game with live service.” However, the project is still in the early stages of development, so it’s still early to reveal it.
