RedLight Center, veteran virtual sex application, announces by the end of this month version 2.0 of the program, which will be compatible with Oculus Rift. The sex industry moves a lot of money and gets into all areas where it can generate profits. Virtual reality was no exception.
Redlight Center, from the Canadian company Utherverse, is a chat application with 3D avatars in the style of Second Life, but oriented exclusively to sex and other types of adult entertainment. It has been running since 2005 and already has around 25 million subscribers worldwide, and now they have decided to take one more step to, taking advantage of the release of version 2.0 of the application, scheduled for the end of this month of January, add compatibility with Oculus Rift.
According to its CEO Brian Shuster, the company has invested $40 million to create version 2.0 of Redlight Center and believes that this is a spectacular market for virtual reality. And they are not only interested in HMDs, they are also evaluating adding support for Leap Motion-style controls that allow us to use our own hands to interact with the virtual world to add even more immersion, in addition to being very interested in haptic technologies that could allow us to feel the touch or be touched by someone located in a distant place.
The application can be downloaded for free from its website after registering, although as usually happens in this type of games, to obtain certain exclusive functions, a VIP account will have to be made for which a monthly fee will have to be paid, in addition to the micropayments that are necessary to obtain various virtual objects.
