More and more devices are focused on being compatible with a smart home, having interconnectivity and being able to be controlled with voice via an assistant. Apple is the company that seems to be lagging behind in this aspect, but a report indicates that it is already working on correcting this.
Mark Gurman, a technology specialist at Bloomberg, commented in his most recent Power On newsletter that in fact, Apple has not only 1, but up to 4 smart devices in development. The first thing the company would focus on is updating and relaunching its HomePod home assistant, through minimal improvements for the Mini version and a little more substantial for the regular version. It should be remembered that the regular version was discontinued due to its poor commercial performance, but apparently the big apple is ready to try again.
In addition, Apple is also thinking about making other types of devices. One of them seems to be a home assistant with a screen and a camera (similar to the Amazon Echo Show). The objective of these devices is that they allow a greater variety of interactions, such as helping to cook, making video calls or watching videos around the house even if you don’t bring your cell phone, in addition to allowing you to control everything with voice instructions.
Gurman mentioned that these new devices may not come out until 2024, so there is still a lot to look forward to. However, as Amazon and Google begin to control more and more of the smart market, Apple has to implement a more aggressive strategy, if it does not want to be totally left out of the game.
