Version 1.0 of ReVive is coming, the program that allows you to run native Oculus applications on HTC Vive, and its creator has published a previous version compatible with asynchronous reprojection.
The life of HTC Vive owners is much easier thanks to ReVive, since it allows them to run applications Oculus Rift exclusives on their visors. Now its creator has just released a preview of version 1.0, the main novelty of which is the support for asynchronous reprojection, which will improve the experience of all users by smoothing the head movement when small performance drops occur. To be able to enjoy this functionality we will have to have the SteamVR beta, at least until the reprojection reaches the official version. In addition, this version significantly improves the performance in DiRT Rally (practically twice the fps if our GPU was not the bottleneck) and supports the Oculus SDK 1.9.
Will the author of ReVive be able to emulate the drivers Oculus Touch when will they hit the market in December? We hope so, and that all virtual reality users on PC will be able to run all the available software whatever their chosen platform. In the meantime, you can download this new version of ReVive on GitHub.
