glTF 2.0 compliant objects now support playback of the first basic animation they contain.
The new version of the software Oculus Rift (la 1.29), which is already available on the public test channel, introduces new features for the Dash interface and the Home of the Rift Core 2.0, which already has social functions since the beginning of the month.
From now on (if we have the beta enabled), our virtual home incorporates optimizations to reduce loading times and improve rendering, that is, to make the experience more fluid. In addition, the objects that we import to the Home now have support for basic animations (they will play the first animation they find in the file .glb), the “Morph Target” and “Skinned” types, as specified, are not yet compatible. We can consult more information about this new function in the official documentation, although it is pending to be updated.
As for the Dash interface, the states on the elements and materials used have been improved to give the bar a more moderna design, and includes alignment to the left of the icons, the always visible clock and the option of quick recentrace. In turn, we have new context menus for Dash panels, which we can open by pointing to a panel and pressing the ‘B’ or ‘Y’button.
