The new Home and Dash interface officially leave the beta to reach all Rift users.
Oculus has released the update known as Rift Core 2.0 you abandoned the beta status in the Connect, so it’s already reaching all users. As they share, this new version includes updates to the user interface, some Halloween themed content to decorate our Home (they are unlocked by entering Home before November 1) and new performance improvements to ensure Home and Dash run smoothly with the minimum requirements of the Rift platform. In addition, there is a new feature called Experiments with which we can test some of the upcoming features that will be released for Dash, being available right now the wristwatch and virtual desktop panels.
The Rift Core 2.0, for those who have not participated in the beta, means the introduction of a new Home, which we can now browse, customize and share with our friends (up to 8 people), and the arrival of Dash, a new interface and universal menu that allows you to use desktop applications and anchor them in our virtual environment.
At Connect they also announced Custom Developer Items, a series of unlockable items that developers create for their titles. For example, we can get a Brass Tactics ship by achieving the silver medal in all missions of your campaign. Rewards include animated items, sculptures, trophies, and clothing for our avatar. There are currently over 32 unlockable items from titles such as Loco Dojo, Moss, Superhot VR, Echo Arena, Brass Tactics, Job Simulator, OrbusVR and Arizona Sunshine.
