Oculus has announced the release date of the Harmonix music game for March 23 and the possibility of pre-purchasing the guitar pack for $69.99.
Rock Band VR it is an exclusive game of Oculus Rift which requires Oculus Touch and one compatible guitar with Rock Band 4. The Fender Stratocaster wireless guitar for Xbox One or PlayStation 4 can be pre-purchased with the game for a total of $69.99. To use the guitar with Rock Band VR, we will need the connector that comes standard with the purchase of Oculus Touch. The game puts us in the center of the stage, making us feel as if we were really playing in front of a crowd of people, and with the possibility of looking at our fans in front of us cheering us on, and our band behind playing.
“The Rift’s integrated audio does a phenomenal job of spatializing the sound around us for a real stage experience. If you teleport across the stage, the sound changes to accommodate your new position, creating an impressive illusion. You really feel like you’re there with the audience in front of you, the drums behind you and your amp next to you,” he says Steve Pardo, sound designer at Harmonix. During the game we can activate the effects pedals, using the ‘whammy’ bar, and each combination of buttons will have a unique sound with which we can create guitar solos, and even hit the drummer’s records. Rock Band VR will have classic mode, campaign and leaderboards.
