The VR game Rooms of Realities combines several escape rooms into one big story – also cooperatively on request.
Whether creepy grottoes or hidden chambers with a huge skull sculpture: the VR game Rooms of Realities combines several mysterious locations into an overarching story. The puzzle adventure has been announced for SteamVR and should be released there in Early Access this year.
Developer Bluekey and publisher Gamedust (Yupitergrad 2) mention an entire anthology – that is, an Collection of playable VR stories. The end of the game starts as a secret agent, detective or adventurer to investigate the disappearance of a certain person in an abandoned hospital, for example. With all this, apparently, a mysterious secret agency has its fingers in the game.
Cooperative Escape for SteamVR
The VR game starts with three interconnected locations, which can also be explored cooperatively. A number of players is not yet mentioned, but the developers promise authentic escape room atmosphere in virtual reality for the home.
In the rest of the adventures, the players end up in a The pyramid and Captain Nemo’s lair deep under the sea. There they pull levers together, unravel rope puzzles and examine mystical stone artifacts reminiscent of portals.
In the trailer you can see how objects are thrown precisely through the room. For example, you hand over useful things such as blades or candles to your partners.
Is Rooms of Realities coming to Meta Quest 2?
During such joint actions, you will see the participants in the form of Meta’s new VR avatars. So a native implementation for Meta Quest 2 seems likely, even if it hasn’t been officially announced yet.
So far, Valve Index, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are listed on Steam for supported VR glasses. Via Meta Link or Air Link you can use Rooms of Realities directly with the Meta Quest (2).
According to the Steam description, the basic mechanical framework should be ready by the start of early access. Two to three months later, the more sophisticated full version will follow, with new maps, modes and challenges, cloud saves, achievements and leaderboards. The price should not change at the start of the full version.
