The Galaxy Z Flip is the cheaper of the two models and can be folded out to the size of a conventional smartphone with a display diagonal of 6.7 inches. The new camera, according to Samsung, has the quality of the flagship S-series of the concern. With the previous models, compromises had to be made. Among other things, the night image mode and image stabilization for videos have been improved.
More applications for the small screen
Among the software innovations is that users can do more with the smaller display on the outside of the phone. Among other things, you can shoot better selfies with it. There is also more flexibility when shooting video: you can first display the image on the unfolded large display and then seamlessly switch to the smaller screen, which leaves more freedom in the viewing angles. The price ranges from 1099 euros for the cheapest version with 128 gigabytes of memory to 1279 euros for 512 GB.
The Z Fold 4, which is more designed for professional users and has a 7.6-inch screen when unfolded, is the first Samsung device to receive the new Android version 12L. It is specially adapted to foldables. Among other things, multitasking should become easier thanks to a new taskbar.
The camera quality was increased with an improved 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens. The screen is brighter and the camera hidden under the display should be barely visible. The starting price of the Z Fold 4 is almost 1800 euros for the variant with 256 GB, for the top model with a terabyte almost 2160 euros are due.
Pre-order starts immediately, there is also a watch
The new flip and fold models can already be pre-ordered and will be delivered from August 26. Samsung is also launching the Galaxy Watch 5 as a Pro model. Among other things, it is intended to record body function values more accurately than the predecessor model. The Watch 5 is available from 299 euros in the Bluetooth version and from 469 euros in the more robust Pro version. With the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Samsung is also lagging behind in its wireless earbuds models.
