A few weeks ago, Mark Zuckerberg announced that several new features would be coming to WhatsApp very soon. Well, one of them, perhaps the most useful, is already starting to appear to users.
WABetaInfo reported that a few hours ago, some users who already have the Beta version of Android 2.22.20.9 are already being able to see a new privacy menu in the app. In it, you see a new option called “Online”, similar to the “Last Connected”. Basically, by changing the option to “No One”, no one will be able to see if you are logged in to the app at any given time. Until now, it was impossible to hide this. This is what the new menu looks like:
At the moment, the new feature is only available to some of the Beta users of Android 2.22.20.9, although version 2.22.20.7 is also supposed to be supported. However, not all users with those versions already have it, which means that it seems that Whatsapp is making a staggered distribution. In the future, it is quite possible that it will reach all iOS and Android users.
