PlayStation announces one of the collaborations they are carrying out with different studios to bring new games to the Sony viewer.
This Saturday, October 13 Sony’s virtual reality turns two years old, and to celebrate it the company has announced multiple news that will land very soon in PSVR, being the most outstanding adaptation to VR of Borderlands 2, the Gearbox game that was released in 2012, in addition to the arrival of the next Firewall Zero Hour update, the Astro Bot Rescue Mission demo and the ability to pre-order Tetris Effect.
“We’ve collaborated with some studios to augment our growing range of immersive titles, ranging from a hit new game to additional content, demos, pre-orders and much more!”, comment Mrs. Liuhuabing, Senior Platform Marketing Manager of PlayStation Spain.
Below, the list of news with more information:
Borderlands 2 VR (December 14, 2018)
An adaptation for which Gearbox has taken special care, carrying out “extensive research” on how the best VR games work in order to enjoy the best experience in the world of Pandora, which means that there will be unique mechanics and skills designed for the medium, such as the use they give to bullet time (or CAM time).
“Turning on CAM time will give you the speed and reflexes of a rabid skag and allow you to dodge bullets, hit head shots without using your sights after making a 360º turn, and even use your action ability to repel hordes of bandits, torosimios, or anything else Pandora might throw at you,” explains Gearbox producer Brian Burleson.
The four characters of the original game will have their special abilities modified and adapted to this feature of bullet time, being for example possible to recover seconds of time by eliminating enemies with advantages such as”The Mark of Death”.
Unlike the 2012 title, Borderlands 2 VR will allow us to drive the vehicles in first person (handling the weapons inside with sight), but you will not have the option of co-op multiplayer, so the skills that depended on our teammates have been modified to offer new features.
The game, which is sold as a standalone title and will be compatible with gamepad and Move controllers, is now available for pre-purchase for $ 49.99 in the US store (it is expected to arrive today also in Europe).
Astro Bot Rescue Mission Demo (October 16, 2018)
Japan Studio’s acclaimed platform game will feature a demo starting next week. At the moment they have not shared information on what exactly it will include, but it is very likely that it will allow us to enjoy a full level, in addition to a final boss.
Firewall Zero Hour Cosmetics Update (October 16, 2018)
The update that will allow us to buy face paints and skins for our weapons will be available next week. We can find more information in the news we published yesterday.
Tetris Effect Reserve
The new game from the creators of Rez Infinite is now available for pre-purchase on PlayStation Store for € 39.99 (an additional 10% if we have PS Plus). Those who pre-order will receive a PS4 theme, seven avatars and a sample of the original soundtrack.
