Gamer’s Day will take place on August 29, and some companies are preparing to celebrate it in different ways. One of them is Spotify, who has just reminded us of its Group Sessions function.
Spotify explained a little about group sessions, a new feature that is available in the music app and that allows up to 8 people to connect to the same session, so that everyone hears the same thing and at the same time, and so that anyone has the power to select the next song. Obviously, this is a great feature that allows gamer friends who are playing together to also listen to music together.
To start using group sessions the host must go to the view of what is being played and access the Select a Device option, which appears at the bottom left with the icon of a screen and a speaker. Then you need to select Start a remote group session and choose one of the options to invite up to 7 friends. Once connected, they will be able to see the profile picture of each player and each one will be able to control the music that is playing. If any of the participants clicks on the Exit button, the group session will automatically end. The following infographic explains the process visually:
If you want to take your gaming experience a step further, then you can also start your group session with the Top Gaming Latin America list, populated with the favorite songs of gamers in the region. For example, today you will find great hits such as “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd; “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles; “Sorry BB :/” by Bad Bunny; and “Bones” by Imagine Dragons.
Gamers have been banding together to play as a team for a long time and now they can take their interaction to the next level by also hearing the same thing.
