A few weeks ago we confirmed that Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite Internet, was already available in Mexico. And although the service offered great advantages or good connection in areas far from the metropolis, the problem is that it was very expensive. Well, no more: Starlink drops in price!
Since a few hours ago, Mexican users on social networks began to report receiving emails from Starlink. And it turns out that the mail rightly mentions a cost reduction in the region, due to the fact that the company “takes into account the local market conditions and is aimed at reflecting parity in purchasing power among its customers.”
Emails that I am happy to receive.#Starlink reduces its tariff in Mexico from 2,299 to 1,100 pesos (55 USD).
This will allow more Mexicans to access the service in areas with little access. pic.twitter.com/ebrD0o8Goy

By going to check the official Starlink site in Mexico, we were able to confirm that the change is already reflected: the equipment went from costing $14,300 MXN to only $ 8300 MXN, while the monthly fee went from costing $ 2300 MXN to only $1100 MXN.
Clearly, purchasing power is not the same all over the world. Therefore, different companies have to carry out local market studies to identify what prices people in each country are willing to pay. And fortunately, we have just seen this adjustment in Mexico that will allow more people to subscribe to Starlink.
