Ready Player One, one of the standard novels of virtual reality, will be brought to the big screen by Steven Spielberg, chosen to direct the story of Parzival in the OASIS metaverse.
The story of Ready Player One is loaded with references to the cinema and music of the 80s, so the choice of Spielberg, who by the way returns to Warner Bros after 14 years, seems quite appropriate. Ernest Cline, the author of the novel, expresses his excitement in a tweet.
Guess what? Steven Spielberg is going to direct Ready Player One! And I’m going to have a massive coronary. https://t.co/IWILQQTV3a

Ready Player One in the film has the potential to become a real visual spectacle and a window into the future of virtual reality systems, as described by the author in the novel are far ahead of the current and that we will see during the first few years. As a curiosity, in the Virtuix Omni Kickstarter campaign there was a tier that included a copy of Ready Player One signed by the author, which we can see in this video testing one of the first Oculus Rift prototypes.
