Do you remember when Elon Musk introduced the Cybertruck in 2019 and we saw how a glass burst with a bang, in a failed attempt by Tesla to demonstrate its resilience? Well, now the company is appropriating the meme, as it is selling stickers to celebrate the accident.
Broken glass decals?
The decal of the great crystal
A few hours ago, Tesla celebrated the deliveries of the first Cybertruck. In addition to a party, the company expanded its website, which now offers various items and accessories for the vehicle. And obviously, the most striking one is a broken glass decal celebrating a nasty accident that happened in 2019.
At the original Cybertruck presentation event, Elon Musk wanted to demonstrate the endurance of his vehicle with some demonstrations of its impact resistance. The designer Franz von Holzhausen came on stage and first knocked on the door with a baseball bat, which was successfully resisted. However, in the second test he threw a steel ball against the window… and the window crashed. Obviously, the audience went crazy because it was a fail of epic proportions, starring live, on stage.

Since that moment, Tesla has taken the incident with humor, as it has sold some merchandise related to it, such as T-shirts. Today, the company went even further, because it announced window decals that make it look like it’s broken, just like the glass of the presentation event. The sticker costs $55 USD and has a great description, although it should be clarified that it can only be placed on the rear window, because putting it on the front presents a road safety risk.
