Oculus Quest 2 is now available, offering a wireless virtual reality experience for those who crave new adventures. Whether you’re looking for a shooter or a way to do some cardio, here are some of the best VR games for you to play with your new Oculus Quest 2.
While Oculus Quest has its own library, the variety of games is enhanced due to the ability to use Link as an option to play even more adventures. Some of our recommendations below do not need the link, but we have noticed which ones require the additional component for transparency.
You fight… with lightsabers. No more talking. While this game is very short, it’s honestly a great workout alternative for those looking to do some cardio while having fun. Also, again: lightsabers.
Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners
Does it require Oculus Link? It did at launch, but a Quest version is now available.
If you like The Walking Dead, or you just like the zombie genre in general, Saints & Sinners is the perfect VR Game for you to try. It’s a single-player adventure that will pit you against zombies in a way that will be familiar to Walking Dead fans and, at the same time, retain a uniqueness that makes it inclusive for everyone.
With the heart of the game set in New Orleans, you will have to deal with the warring factions, the deadly undead and the survivors who need your help. This game is the surprise of the year for me personally; I can’t recommend it enough.
Star Wars: Squadrons
Does it require Oculus Link? If.
We couldn’t get enough of Star Wars: Squadrons, but for those pilots who want to take this adventure in a galaxy far, far away to the next level? Virtual reality is the way to do it. Eliminate X-Wings, be the epic Star Wars character you were always meant to be, and do it all safely from your living room. No IRL Empire encounters are needed for this experience.
Super hot
Does it require Oculus Link? No.
Superhot has been around for a while and it’s not a VR exclusive. That said, the VR version of this game is a unique experience on its own, even if I haven’t yet successfully fleshed out the “just relax and be still for a second” aspect of this particular journey. Shoot weapons, launch weapons Matrix-style Offensive … it’s an amazing game and a must-have for any VR owner.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew
Does it require Oculus Link? No.
This game is great to play with other Star Trek fans, although it has not had the same love as many other VR titles on this list. Take charge of the starship of your dreams through different missions that are great to board with friends. While not the most innovative title, Star Trek: Bridge Crew knows its target audience – fans who love to live a long life and thrive.
Phantom black ops
Does it require Oculus Link? No.
This is a game that Splinter Cell fans will like and is perfect for those who are big lovers of military-style virtual reality adventures. Be stealthy, get the necessary information and complete the objectives correctly to complete the story and be the best person in special ops. All this in kayak.
Myst
Does it require Oculus Link? No.
Myst will send you directly to a mysterious island full of beauty, but also shrouded in injustice. You will have to use both our imagination and your ingenuity to discover the secrets related to an intense betrayal, offering a narrative that will accompany you long after the credits roll.
If the name sounds familiar, this is a VR spin on the original classic puzzle adventure game with more modernized touches as seen with the puzzles themselves, game sounds, and more.
This is also the only game on the list that is not yet available, but it will arrive in December.
Half-life: Alyx
Does it require Oculus Link? If.
Half-Life: Alyx is the third game in Valve’s famous Half-Life franchise. While some wished for anything but a VR iteration, the game itself has received a lot of positive feedback from gamers who have access to VR. This game is ideal for both fans of the series and newcomers, especially to get the opportunity to take on the role of Alyx herself. However, a small caveat: there are some epileptic triggers that I would advise to beware of.
Audica
Does it require Oculus Link? No.
This is another rhythm game that is more of a shooting game, a nice change for those who are not looking to use the lightsaber with Beat Saber. With Harmonix music that has won countless awards, this is another great game to enjoy or to implement into your daily exercise routine.
Moss
Does it require Oculus Link? No.
Want something adorable to dive into after a good day of Star Wars VR? Moss is the perfect experience for that. The adorable protagonist, a mouse named Quill, is too precious for words as he wanders the world around him with a sense of awe and wonder. There is also combat, but the size of this world is the most impressive part.
Beat Sabre multiplayer
Does it require Oculus Link? No.
Beat Saber is a rhythm game in which you use lightsabers to make a move and burn some calories. At first I was quite skeptical about it, even with so many compliments to the game, but now? Now I’m hooked. I also blame this game for getting me hooked on the K/DA group from League of Legends K-Pop.
Virtual reality has many more stories to discover, including cooperative adventures such as Wander, Crisis VRigade and Spaceteam VR. There are sports games like Oculus Quest Golf and Real VR Fishing Quest. There are also horror adventures like Phasmophobia, which I specifically left off the main list because, honestly? I’m really too scared to try it in VR. I’m not ashamed, I’m not proud.
There are many different adventures to undertake with Oculus Quest 2 for all types of players and for players of all ages. It is a wonderful way to escape to another place for a while and at the same time gain new experiences.
Oculus Quest 2 is now available. You can find out more about the latest headphones via the official website on the right here.
