It seems that Samsung intends that virtual reality will also reach the next Samsung Galaxy S6 and Edge, two smartphones that, according to all indications, would have a resolution of 2560×1440, that is, the same as the Note 4, although with a smaller screen.
On the contrary, and according to Sammobile, Samsung could be working on a specific version of Gear VR, although other websites do not rule out that a special adapter will be manufactured to use Gear VR with these 5.1 ” smartphones, or even that finally these devices have a similar dimensions to the Note range. It seems to us that the first option is the one that makes the most sense, since an adapter to use the current Gear VR would entail a significant reduction in the viewing angle, since the lenses are prepared for the Note 4 screen.
It would therefore not be a successor, a Gear VR 2, but a special parallel version for this screen size. We hope to get out of doubt in the coming weeks.
