Berlin And not only because of the look-through effect on the various components, which gives the (wrong) impression that the phone is still in the Smarpthone factory for final assembly. Nothing has arranged semicircular and rod-shaped LED elements on the back, which are optionally available in white or black, which can glow neon white individually or in various combinations and thus represent pictorial symbols.

Glyphs: luminous signs from another world?

That’s why Nothing also calls the LED arrangement Glyph Interface. It is completely freely configurable for notifications of any kind. Various luminous glyphs can be linked to certain messages or contacts, for example. So you can also see who is calling when the phone is muted on the display. But the LEDs can also light up in concert with various spacey sounds – or with all their might as a flash or permanent light for photos and videos.

The 6.55-inch OLED display (120 Hertz) with fingerprint sensor is embedded almost borderless in the housing. As a processor, the top-class chip Snapdragon 778G + works in the phone with relatively unchanged Android 12 (Nothing OS). This is to be updated for three years and receive security updates for four years.

Prices for Nothing Phone start at 469 euros

On board is a dual camera, which consists of an optically stabilized main and ultra-wide-angle camera (each 50 megapixels). The battery can also be charged wirelessly.

Prices start from 469 euros for the model with a black back, 8 gigabytes (GB) of RAM and 128 GB of memory. The cheapest version with a white back cover, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory costs 499 euros. The top model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory costs 549 euros, regardless of color.
