The TPCAST wireless adapter for HTC Vive is scheduled to be released in China at the end of this same month of April, although it was scheduled for the first quarter of the year.
To the wireless adapter of TPCAST we have been tracking him since November 2016, when the first news appeared. I myself talked about the subject as soon as the device could be analyzed and see that it really worked and with hardly any latency.
Now the company has apologized for the delay of several weeks due to the fact that the testing and production processes have taken longer than planned. The pre-purchases of last November were supposed to arrive this first quarter in China, but they will start arriving at the end of this month of April. As for the international shipments, announced for the second quarter, it seems that they will also have that weeks delay, so they probably won’t start until the end of July.
We remind you that the price without shipping and without taxes is $249; a justifiable accessory for individuals who are especially bothered by ties, company demonstrations and arcade centers.
A detail that speaks well of this company is that not only has it apologized and that’s it, which would be very easy, but to thank the patience and support of the ‘early adopters’, TPCAST will give you a TransQ, a small mobile-to-TV streaming device and, in addition, the original two-hour battery will be exchanged for a five-hour one. It’s not bad at all.
But this is only the beginning, not that TPCAST work only with HTC Vive, they plan to make a version for Oculus Rift. But there are also other companies that are betting on wireless virtual reality.
In case anyone does not remember what it was like and what the device offered TPCAST, I refer you to these analysis videos of UploadVR and Tested.
