The administration of Donald trump plans to introduce a duty of 25% on goods exported from France, in response to the “digital tax” (tax digital). Duties will affect cosmetics, bags, clothing and several others
headings. The total amount of goods that is planned to impose duties, is estimated at $1.3 billion.
It is expected that duties will be imposed in the next 180 days. The exact date is still unknown: if the French go back on their word, the administration trump may cancel their countermeasures.
We will remind, the French authorities plan to impose a tax of 3% on revenues international it companies, they receive in the country.
The introduction of such digital tax also consider countries such as the UK, India and Turkey. They are also threatening retaliatory duties from the US.
