Within brings us this app dedicated to delivering experiences for children based on the “spatial narrative,” to iOS devices compatible with ARKit.
Expanding on the potential of transmitting stories through augmented reality, comes Wonderscope, a platform for the distribution of children’s stories that will use our space to compose narrative scenes with which we can interact and observe in different ways, designed so that the child has fun while he is active exploring the environment and improves his reading having fun.
Millions of children use screens as much or more than adults, and mostly alone,” according to Chris Milk, CEO of Within “With AR, we see an opportunity to change that dynamic. Instead of immersing ourselves in the device, Wonderscope promotes an experience that encourages the child to explore and open up to their environment.”
Within has developed this application making use of the technology ARKit of Apple, turning our iOS device into the entrance to a world where the child will have an active role in history,
reacting to movement and voice commands presented in the form of dialogue lines that the child will have to read aloud, using a voice recognition system based on language models stored in the phone, to minimize latency problems.
The app can be purchased from the App Store for free for devices iOS compatible with ARKit. For the moment it includes the stories “A Brief Story of Stunts” (Short Story of the Acrobatics), available in free and “Little Red the Inventor” (Little Red Riding Hood the Inventor) at a price of $4,99 only in English. With future releases planned from December, created from the Storytelling tool, Within will allow all types of artists to create content for this platform.
