Minority Media, creators of Papo & Yo, will present at the beginning of March during the GDC their first title designed for virtual reality, Time Machine. It is planned that the release of the game will occur with the arrival of the commercial version of the Rift.
According to the press release, Time Machine is the first AAA time travel experience designed to harness the power of virtual reality. The game takes place in the year 2070, during a time called Neo-Renaissance, a time of peace, prosperity and the search for knowledge. We will put ourselves in the shoes of a paleontologist recruited by the Monda Muzeo (Museum of the World). Our mission will be to collect the largest record of prehistory ever created. To complete our quest we will travel to the Jurassic era and explore a treacherous ecosystem, collecting data from living dinosaurs to unravel the mysterious past of the Earth.
“We all grew up with inspiring stories like Jurassic Park and Back to the Future,” says Vander Caballero, CEO of Minority. “The result is that we have always wanted to live in a world in which incredible events happen. Now that virtual reality is powerful enough, we can finally make our dreams come true.”
