HunJoo Song has launched a Kickstarter campaign to finance the TwoEyes VR camera capable of recording in 4K in 360º and in 3D thanks to its cameras separated at a distance of 65mm.
The new camera TwoEyes VR 360 it imitates human sight, since it is equipped with two pairs of 180º lenses placed at a distance of 65mm between them, which is the average interpupillary distance between people’s eyes. This design allows you to capture in 360º in a more natural way similar to how we see the world, although we also have the possibility of holding the camera vertically to record in 360º plane. The device is accompanied by a software for our phone with which to control the different options, make recordings and share the captures on social networks.
Its creators claim that this feature of placing the cameras at the same interpupillary distance as human eyes guarantees a higher quality in 3D with respect to other devices that calculate the separation based on an algorithm. The hardware weighs 200 grams, has an internal memory of 128 GB, records at a maximum quality of 3840×3840 at 30fps, and incorporates Wifi and Bluetooth. Its price is $ 239, but we can support the campaign by taking advantage of the earlybird packs to get it for $ 219. The campaign goal is $40,000 and the estimated delivery date is for August 2017.
