The casual multiplayer game will receive a feature film with real actors, on the occasion of an initiative to visualize women performing creative work in the film and television industries.
According to research conducted by the association Women in Hollywood, only 10% of blockbuster scripts in 2017 were written by women, while in other positions such as director or cinematographer, the percentage is even lower. To help visualize and encourage the hiring of women to develop creative roles in the world of audiovisual entertainment, Ubisoft created the Women’s Film and Television Fellowship, which recently offered Mishna Wolff and Tasha Huo the opportunity to create new productions based on the company’s titles.
Among all the titles available from the French distributor, Mishna Wolff selected social multiplayer for VR Werewolves Within, he will use it to write a film with real actors, which will mix horror with a tone of humor, inspired by the basic concept of the game. His script will tell the story of a remote village that is forced to deal with the presence of werewolves on its own.
On the other hand, Tasha Huo chose the 2D adventure game Child of Light, to develop a telivision series, which will follow Aurora’s personal development from another perspective.
