Space Engine, the popular space engine that allows us to travel the entire universe at our leisure, has received update 0.9.7.3 with important improvements in terms of compatibility with Oculus Rift.
The author has updated to the Oculus SDK 0.4.4 and, according to the release notes, this version solves the problems with direct mode and absolute positioning, and we should not forget that support for Oculus Rift was blindly implemented earlier, since its creator did not have DK2. In any case we will have to try it, since other projects written in OpenGL do not end up working well in direct mode. In addition to this, it seems that the problems when using the Oculus Rift with AMD cards have also been solved, so it may be a good time to take a new look at Space Engine and enjoy at our own pace the wonders of the universe in virtual reality.
