Berlin The Verdi trade union wants to increase the pressure in collective bargaining negotiations with Deutsche Telekom. At the same time as the start of the third round of negotiations, employees were called to an all-day warning strike on Tuesday, Verdi announced on Monday.
An offer capable of reaching an agreement is expected. The previous offers neither a sufficient compensation for the rising cost of living nor a reasonable participation in the company’s success. Already in the past week, there were outages at several locations, in which a total of more than 10,000 employees took part.
The wage talks for around 55,000 Deutsche Telekom employees in Germany will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday. Among other things, Verdi is calling for a table-effective fee increase of six percent for a term of twelve months and an additional component to increase income equity. In addition, the remuneration for trainees and students in dual study programs is to increase disproportionately by 80 euros per month.
