After several years of waiting and now that the distribution of Virtuix Omni has begun, the company announces that, due to logistical problems, they will not ship any units of the Omni outside the United States.
So, international backers are left unable to receive their Omni after all. The company claims that it has studied all possible options and, given the size of the device, they have not managed to find a good solution to achieve compliance with international regulation in different countries to be able to maintain and store devices and the necessary spare parts to cover possible warranties. Outside the United States, shipments will only be made to certain companies such as virtual reality arcade rooms and entertainment centers, but not to end consumers. A jug of cold water for those who supported the campaign, especially when checking that the price of the Omni has tripled compared to the amount paid during the Kickstarter.
Virtuix will return the money, along with a 3% interest for each year since 2013, on the PayPal accounts of the backers, who have already received a communication from the company to initiate the procedures.
