The wireless adapter for Vive and Vive Pro, which will ship from September 24, is now available for pre-order.
Vive Wireless, the accessory that turns HTC viewers into wireless and won the best hardware award at Gamescom, can now be pre-ordered through the Vive website and other distributors. To carry out your purchase we have to choose if we want it for the standard edition of Vive (345€) or for the Pro (420€), since the latter includes an accessory to attach the device to the viewer that has a cost of 75€.
In our computer we will have to have a free slot for the PCIe card that communicates with the sender/receiver that we will place on top. In addition to this requirement, the company specifies on its website that the PC has to meet Vive’s recommended requirements, although they name them as “minimums”, with a GTX 1060 being the detailed GPU.
Vive Wireless weighs 125 grams, offers an autonomy of more than 2 hours and a half and can be combined with two more users in the same room, that is, up to 3 people can enjoy with the wireless in a space of 6 x 6 meters.
Shipments will begin next September 24. We can learn more about how Vive Wireless works in our Gamescom impressions.
