VMware will release a virtualization platform clients based on Intel vPro technology| 02.03.2009
Sunday at the conference VMworld Europe 2009 in Cannes, VMware announced an agreement with Intel aimed at the release of a new product VMware Client Virtualization Platform (CVP) as part of
virtualization desktop VMware View.
VMware CVP is installed on “bare-metal” hypervisor for client systems that is optimized to work on desktops and laptops with Intel Core2 and Centrino 2, equipped with
with Intel vPro technology. CVP will extend the capabilities of centralized management of VMware View, allowing end users to work in a virtualized environment, both in the online and offline, and
system administrators centrally manage this it environment end users.
Thanks to Intel vPro technology, administrators can manage the data security features and other integrated functions of remote machines even when they are turned off if out of
a failed hard drive or operating system does not respond to commands. And users can access their virtualized desktop environment at any time and from any location.
VMware CVP complement components VMware View Manager and VMware View Composer, which is already included in the VMware View. VMware View Manager is the server virtual desktop offering
system administrators the ability to manage user access. VMware View Composer lets you quickly create thousands of virtual client machines on the same reference image and change them
configuration, making changes in this way.
VMware started offering a desktop solution in 1999, releasing a VMware Workstation. Since then the company has added products VMware ACE to manage it resources users and VMware Fusion for
execution Windows on the Mac simultaneously with Mac OS X.
