“VTB Insurance” has tested a BPM solution Oracle| 25.03.2010
Thursday, March 25, at the conference “IT in insurance business”, the CIO of the company “VTB Insurance” Igor Parfejnikov said that recently the insurance company was
completed pilot project to implement a BPM system.
According to Mr. Parafeynikova, insurance companies in managing their activities face a number of challenges. It is, in particular, the lack of differentiation in the zones of responsibility in
business processes. When this information is repeatedly entered in the information system, which often leads to doubles. In addition, management decisions were often taken outside of the information
systems. Moreover, information about the adoption of a decision may not be in the IP. These and a number of other problems affect the efficiency of business processes of insurance companies. At the same time, Igor
Parfejnikov noted that often the cause of these problems is the lack of regulation of actions of participants of the insurance process.
As a means to solve the aforementioned problems of “VTB Insurance” has decided, in addition to regulating the work of employees, to try to use system process management (BPM). While Mr.
Parfejnikov noted that for BPM the solution cannot be treated as another information system. In his opinion, a BPM system should provide an add-on to the it systems of the company, which
will “conduct” of an employee through the existing information systems to act within them. That is, this solution information is entered and validated once, and all receiving
in the framework of the business process decisions will be recorded in IP.
This is the conclusion of “VTB Insurance” came after the implementation of the pilot project for the implementation of a BPM system. As a “training ground” for her, the company chose two processes: the settlement of insurance events
auto insurance and underwriting insurance. As the basis for their BPM system “VTB Insurance” has selected Oracle BPM Suite
According to Igor Parafeynikova, the use of this solution in these processes allow, in particular, to eliminate unauthorised payments to increase by 5% charges for regression, to reduce
loss by reducing needless “klientoorientirovannoj” sellers. As a result, as noted by the Director “VTB Insurance”, the company’s management Board will now consider
questions about the full implementation of the named BPM solution.
