We e-shop like never before
It will probably not come as a big surprise to many that we Danes shop digitally as never before, and that goods fall into the Danish digital shopping baskets for several thousand kroner every day. Revenue for e-commerce in Denmark is impressively high and it is increasing year by year – just in 2018, e-commerce has increased by 12 % in the first six months of the year compared to last year!
We Danes buy everything from pharmaceuticals and supplements, to appliances and hair dryers on the internet, and e-commerce has become a natural and indispensable part of our lives.
E-commerce in women and men
While women’s most popular e-purchases are clothes and shoes, men’s favorite purchases on the internet are electronics, and if a man lacks a trimmer for his nose, he is more likely to buy it in an online shop, rather than go down to a physical store and acquire one.
Why e-commerce
There are many reasons why e-commerce in the Danes continues to grow, but one of the reasons is that we all have a smartphone that we can easily and quickly order things home with, no matter where we are. In addition, the vast majority of online purchase sites are very user-friendly, and especially Danish websites have high Product Safety, and this creates security and satisfaction among the Danes, which is also reflected in consumers ‘ high ratings of the many different websites. In addition, there are a lot of different blogs and websites on the internet where we can find reviews and guides of different products, like this buying guide to find the right razor. In this way, it will be easier for us as consumers to form a picture of the products without having to consult a physical store. On the other hand, we feel that we can safely order a product home after reading reviews and guides of the product on the internet.
So it has become so easy and convenient for us Danes to shop on the internet that we continue to do it more and more.
