There is a fictitious story behind the transfer request: allegedly, you should receive money back after the payment, which you have invested in unlicensed online trading platforms. To make the matter more credible, the fraudsters send a security contract with them, which is supposed to come from BaFin, but of course it is fake.
To make contact, the criminals indicate in the e-mail signature “BAFIN Team” as well as the name of an alleged employee: Dr. Gottlob Berger. According to the authority, everything is fictitious here as well. No one of that name is employed by BaFin.
