The latest update of Windows 10 Insider, the Microsoft testing program, includes an application that allows us to know if our team meets the requirements to use the future Windows 10 virtual environment.
Windows Holographic is a 3D environment prepared by Microsoft for Windows 10, accessible through a compatible virtual reality viewer. It will offer us an experience similar to that of Hololens, where we can interact with different elements, as well as customize them to our style. The Windows Holographic First Run application that is included in the latest update of the Windows 10 Insider program allows us to know if our team meets the minimum requirements for this experience.

The requirements of Windows Holographic are:
- 4 GB RAM.
- USB 3.0.
- Graphics card with DirectX 12 support.
- Processor with 4 cores.
The application, after verifying if our equipment complies with the above, will show us a screen to prepare our room space, which will have to have 2×1,5 meters minimum, and configure our HMD. In turn, when checking the space, we will have the possibility of adding optional sensors for positioning. Currently, the application does not detect any viewer, since it is a first version that they are working on.
In December Microsoft will give more details about Creator’s Update, the new Windows 10 update that will arrive in March 2017, which includes Windows Holographic and will allow us to use the new virtual reality devices that were recently announced with a price starting at € 299.
