Recipients are asked to fill in missing information via chatbot. However, the consumer center North Rhine-Westphalia expressly warns against this. The mails should be moved directly to the spam folder.
Because anyone who opens the chatbot (“virtual guide Suzy”) via the link in the mail is already playing the lousy game of the scammers. Of course, mail and chatbot have nothing to do with any parcel service, but are fictitious in order to steal addresses and other personal data from users.
Since the chatbot really enters into a dialogue with the users, displays tracking numbers and even photos of the supposed packages, there is a relatively high risk that many will take the fictitious scenario of the stranded package, which is now supposed to be delivered somehow, at face value.
