IDC together with “Neoflex” held the research of Russian market of technologies streaming data processing among the largest Russian banks and financial institutions, retailers and
the telecommunication companies.

Today the need for rapid decision-making is particularly important and companies want to analyze data at the moment of their appearance. Streaming Analytics or real-time Analytics involves
the use of special techniques which focus on the receipt and processing of a large flow of constantly updated data in micro-batches as they are received.
According to the study, more than 56% of the companies participating in the survey already use the technology of stream data processing in their work. Members of all branches of the study there are two
tasks for which it is important to bring the decision-making process to real-time: creating a unique customer experience (84%) and security and business continuity (88%). Among
other business challenges where quick access to information becomes increasingly important, respondents retail trade note the support omnichannel customer interaction and operators
the output of new products and services to market.
More than 70% of financial sector companies in their business processes using or planning to use Analytics in real time to prevent fraud when making a loan
applications and detect suspicious transactions. More than 65% for monitoring information security events and analysis of behavioral activity. More than 60% of financial companies are planning
to use the technology of streaming processing of data for scoring, analysis of logs for applications and recommendations. However, the combined data on the three industries shows that customer Analytics in
the focus for all companies (over 80%).
To date, 44% of companies surveyed do not use streaming data processing. The main limiting factor in 73% of them was lack of experience with this technology. The complexity
integration stops, 59% of respondents, and 45% need to transmit data in the legacy system. Thus the need for rapid decision-making and transition clients in online interaction
forces companies to think about Analytics in real time to provide higher quality services.
The main driver for the introduction of technology will be increased competition, this item noted about 90% of the respondents. In the second place active transition under 75%, in third place
digital transformation of the company – 71%.
According to the respondents, in the introduction of streaming Analytics better to rely on third-party services and expertise. An independent development could take several years for which you can keep and
to lose competitiveness. Therefore, 53% of surveyed companies that have not yet implemented a technology plan to engage external consultants for developing the business objectives, technical
requirements and vendor selection decisions.
