It requires no additional hardware and is based on the company’s ultra-low latency codec.

Having launched products to eliminate Rift and Vive cables, TPCast announces at the CES a solution for companies destined on this occasion to bring virtual reality content from PC to autonomous viewers, using the normal WiFi network. TPCast Air for Enterprise it is designed for business applications that support multiple users, and is based on the TPCast real-time codec, which consists of the ultra-low latency RTCODEC codec and the multi-user control and management protocol RTCIP. Its goal is to offer the best user experience while preserving the highest viewing quality with ultra low latency.

“TPCAST Air achieves our vision of TPCAST 2.0: it provides wireless VR transmission over short, medium and long range distances. TPCAST Air for Enterprise combines the best of both worlds, lightweight, low-cost standalone viewers with the power of PC graphics. With this, it offers light mobility and high rendering performance, ” he says Michael Liu, CEO of TPCAST.

The advantages and benefits that stand out from the application of TPCast Air are the reduction of the investment (not to buy equipment backpack accessories for the wireless), the ease of installation and maintenance (it is only software), the reduction of the cost of the development of the content for standalone (contents of PC in place not to have to adapt, since they run on a PC), the graphics power of the PC, the execution of any content that is compatible with SteamVR and management through tools for functions such as the control of the users and the optimization of the performance of the network.

As for the compatible devices, at first they speak of autonomous viewers such as Oculus Go, being Oculus Quest one of those that will be compatible in the future.

Details such as price and release date have not been revealed at the moment. They are currently showing the solution in the CES.
